We are mobilizing a movement.
We take the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:14-16 very seriously. In His sovereign kindness He tells us our identity - light of the world , gives us our position
- not hidden, and gives us an order - let your light shine to glorify your Father in Heaven. Gone are the days that we shrink due to comparison, culture, doubt, fear, guilt, shame or any other shackles.
We believe that like Moses in Exodus, the more time that we spend with God the more that we take on His features, inwardly and outwardly. Taking Up Space exists to create spaces for us to bask in God’s goodness, allowing the Holy Spirit to continually transform us into glorious bearers of His image so we can confidently live out the plans that He has for us.
OUR VALUES
We aspire to help you embrace the unique individual that God has called you to be. Here’s how…
Scripture Teaching
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. 17 God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.
2 Timothy 3:16-17
Spiritual Formation
And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
++ regularly practicing all spiritual disciplines.
2 Corinthians 3:18
Prayer
Pray continually.
1 Thessalonians 5:17
Worship
Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.
Hebrews 12:28
Hey, I’m Rosalyn! Like you, I’ve known
about God my whole life.
Even though I grew up in the church, I did not always live what I learned and struggled to lead a life mirroring His image. It was only in recent years that I chose to accept the true meaning of being a follower of Christ.
The truth?
My journey getting here has been challenging and far from perfect. My testimony is filled with complex, raw experiences that I hardly saw represented in the church and were considered taboo. I wrestled with anxiety, continuous heartbreak from unhealthy relationships, depression, people-pleasing, and low self-worth. For years I chose to accept disappointment and dysfunction as my portion.
Through all of this, the Lord still pursued me. One day John 10:10 stood out to me in a way that it hadn't before. Desperate for a different life, I bravely asked God, “What would Your abundant life look like for me?” I desired to know what living out my God-given identity to the fullest capacity looked like. By faith, He reshaped my perspective and renewed my mind to birth Taking Up Space.
