End of Year Bible Study: Aligning Your Plans with God's Will

We hosted an end-of-year Bible Study in 2023 with the vision to encourage our community to not just include God in their 2024 plans, but seek His plan first.

Minister Reshaun Owens led us in a powerful lesson starting in Genesis, stopping in Jeremiah, and concluding in Matthew. The lesson emphasizes the importance of aligning our plans and actions with God's will for the upcoming year. He highlights that the only way for us to know God's plan is to know His character and know His voice. And how do we do that? By spending time in His presence. And what else happens in His presence? He changes us. There truly isn't enough space to share how potent and convicting the lesson was!

In rewatching it recently, I felt the message was even more timely today than it was last year (Come on Holy Spirit!). I invite you to watch the lesson here. But before you do, I strongly encourage you to read the Parable of the Sower in Matthew 13 and say the following prayer with a humble, sincere heart:

This parable is so powerful because it shows us why we can listen to sermons for years but still don't see any change in our lives, even if we really want to. We can watch sermons as a part of our weekly routine but they simply encourage us instead of influence us. In Matthew 13 Jesus is generous enough to share insight on why that happens, which then allows us to know what to look out for. I wrote this prayer with the intention to evict everything from our hearts that we place above Jesus, and invite the Holy Spirit in to nurture our heart into fertile ground to receive seeds from the Word of God, and produce the fruit that He intended.

With that in mind, I pray this message blesses you as you are preparing to enter 2025.

Praying for you always!
